Thirsty Thursday 29 November: The Ginger Smash



From Cindy in Jackson Hole comes this recipe for the Ginger Smash.

Cindy didn’t include anything in the way of backstory, but noted that the combination of fresh ginger and cranberries is ‘meant to be’, and is a perfect compliment to your holiday feasts this month.

‘Nuff said.

2 slices fresh ginger
10 Fresh whole cranberries
2 tsp granulated sugar
1 and 1/2 ounces apple cider
1 and 1/2 ounces gin
3/4 ounce fresh-squeezed lemon juice

Garnish: Grated cinnamon, a couple of whole cranberries

In your trusty shaker muddle the ginger, cranberries, and granulated sugar.

Add the apple cider, gin, lemon juice, and ice to fill your intended glass, shake quickly, then pour (unstrained) into the glass.

Garnish and enjoy.
